Ident-A-Kid’s Response to COVID-19
Over the past few months, many of our normal routines have been disrupted. Activities like going to the grocery store, gathering with family and friends, or even our children going to school have been put on hold. The COVID-19 pandemic has required that we all do our part to keep each other safe and healthy. It is not easy to change our habits, but by working together as communities, we’ll be able to move past this uneasy period.
I’m proud to work with an amazing team every day to help serve our nation’s schools, and I care deeply about the well-being of both. Together, we’re able to create a safer environment for our children to learn while addressing the needs of our educators and administrators.
It’s important to us that our employees and their families are safe and together. That’s why beginning in March we gave our employees the option to start working from home and provided the necessary equipment to do so. For a few employees that have opted to continue working in our office, we’ve enforced the CDC guidelines of social distancing. We’re also cleaning all shared areas on a regular basis. We’re committed to supporting our employees, especially in times like these, and are continually looking for opportunities to provide stability.
In addition to supporting our employees, our goal is to continue serving our school customers. As we realized that more and more states were going to enforce stay at home orders our development team began working on a solution to solve the new challenges schools were going to face. On April 1st, we released Remote-Links, a feature that allows our customers to create a shareable link so staff, volunteers, and students could record their remote activities on their phone or PC. This Remote-Links feature is free for all customers, regardless of their software license level.
With most states keeping schools closed for the remainder of the year, and some beginning summer recess now, this summer will be the time that we must prepare for the upcoming changes that will be necessary to make the next school year a success. We hope to keep in touch with our customers and learn more about what we can do to help.
