As the end comes to another school year, we at Ident-A-Kid want to make sure you are all set and ready for when the doors reopen in the fall to let students, staff, and maybe parents back into the building. In this article, we will discuss some simple but essential steps you can take to ensure that everyone on campus is prepared for the new school year.

Students in school

To help schools reopen a new school year as effectively as possible, it’s always good to set reminders to renew your license subscription before the arrival of its expiration date. This way, you are clear from experiencing any upcharge from missing your renewal date.

By renewing your subscription on time or early, you are also given a chance to refresh yourself on the system and test the software, making sure it is functioning correctly. Testing your system can include anything from self-check-in to sex offender checks (SOC), or any configuration changes you need to implement. Get with our team on system changes or check out our doc site for software documentation https://doc.identakid.com/

One step that may get overlooked by the fast pace of daily school operations is stocking up on supplies. This can include making sure you have enough visitor labels and tardy passes. We recommend always having a  stockpile ready. Supplies get used very quickly throughout the year, and you don’t want to be stuck without them when visitors and students are checking in. You may purchase labels by visiting our shop page. https://visitormanagement.identakid.com/shop/?group_id=4

Ident-A-Kid Visitor Management System

Maintaining your equipment is the easiest and best way to prevent malfunction and ensure longevity. Take stock of your current equipment, and check whether it needs to be replaced or cleaned. We recommend cleaning your printer twice a year. If your hardware is out of date, that can result in your system not working to the best of its ability.

If you or any other staff member, new or old, needs to be trained or retrained for a quick refresher, you may do so by contacting Ident-A-Kid through our various contacts and setting an appointment with either a Support Technician or a member of our Customer Success Team. Support can help set up new stations and hardware while our customer success can assist with policy, end-user training, and making sure you are using the newest features and functions of the software. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of the software you pay for each year.

In a typical training session, you’ll learn how the software works, the best way to set up your system, and which way is the proper way to clean your equipment. All sessions are recorded and documentation is stored and can be sent to the user upon request. You may schedule an appointment here.
