How to Create a Wellness Screening Check-In for Schools with iVisitor Management

As schools across the country begin to reopen and welcome students and staff back, there is a much-needed emphasis on additional safety measures. Our schools need easy-to-use solutions that allow them to follow health officials’ guidelines to keep their students and staff healthy. Asking wellness screening questions before an individual enters campus is just one-way schools can monitor and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

iVisitor Management provides schools a visitor management system with the flexibility to add custom check-in buttons, additional information fields, and message boards. This is an excellent option for creating a workflow that includes wellness screening questions. In this post, you’ll learn step-by-step how to create a check-in process that follows this recommended guideline.  

Health officials also recommend minimizing contact on shared surfaces. iVisitor Management provides Remote-Links, a mobile sharing option of a school’s check-in station, for free to all customers. By creating a wellness screening check-in process and using Remote-Links, schools can have anyone check-in using their phone, tablets, or computers.

How to Create Check-in Buttons for Wellness Screening with iVisitor Management.

Creating new buttons in iVisitor Management is very easy. We’re going to share with you the exact steps you can take to create wellness screening buttons for your school.

  1. Access Web Manager (www.school.ccssvm.com)
  2. Click “Settings” in the navigation pane on the left side of the screen
  3. Click “Badge Settings.”
  4. Click “Add New Badge.”
  5. Click on the new badge labeled “Title” to adjust settings. This step is essential. You will be able to edit the new buttons name, the questions and additional information asked when checking-in, create answer options to these questions, and more. There is more information about editing additional information fields below. Examples of badge names may be Student Screening or Staff Screening.
  6. By default, new badges are disabled in the Web Client. Navigate to your School’s Check-In station/Web Client, or create a new station dedicated to wellness screenings.
  7. In the Check-In station/Web Client, access your settings menu.
  8. Click on “Badge Settings.”
  9. Click on the newly created badge for wellness screenings.
  10. Scroll down to “Badge Display” and set to Admin or Kiosk modes
  11. Click “Save.”

How to edit additional information fields for wellness screenings in iVisitor Management.

  1. Access your school’s Web Manager.
  2. Click “Settings” in the navigation pane.
  3. Click “Badge Settings.”
  4. Click the badge title that you want to edit the additional information fields for.
  5. Additional information 1-4 is listed.  To edit, click the title to adjust the settings. We recommend having the input format set to “Text or Button” and marking these fields required and Displayed. The “Freeform Entry” should be off, so an answer from a predefined answer list you set is required. Click “Save” when finished. Examples for titles may be “Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms?” or “What is your logged temperature?” 
  6. Click “Answers” to input a list of answers for your wellness screening questions. We recommend that you disable any additional information field not being used. Answer examples may include “Yes/No” or symptoms to be selected.

How to edit your school’s message board for wellness screenings in iVisitor Management.

  1. Access your school’s Web Manager.
  2. Click “Settings” in the navigation pane.
  3. Click “Badge Settings.”
  4. Select the badge you want to edit the message board for.
  5. Click “Display.” The message board is on the right side of the screen. You can choose the input type “Text/Plain” or “Text/Markdown.” If you switch to “Text/Markdown,” it allows for more formatting of the text and the ability to add photos to the message board
  6. Type the message you would like to have displayed.
  7. Click “Save” at the bottom when finished.
